Orient 30 Years of Dreams

Orients 30th anniversary was written by Olaf Danielson and
appeared in the October issue of H&E Naturist on pages 30-32. You may buy a

Excerpts
From a First Time Naturist Guest
Given the opportunity to
visit a naturist resort two years ago I would have most likely turned the offer
away. Time and life changes, and should I have passed the
opportunity to visit Club Orient, I would have missed the best vacation of my
life. I could not have anticapted the most relaxing, uninhibited atmosphere,
the friendliest people, fantastic food and the most glorious beach anywhere.
From the time I arrived on the island, to the first trip to the
beach, it was as if I belonged in the tropical paradise of Club Orient. It is
hard to imagine what I had been missing all these years.
Fauna
A frequent visitor seen
flittering around the flowering hibiscus and bougainvillea scattered around the
resort is a little
friend known as the Green-throated Carib. A good sized
humming-bird, this Caribbean species is identified as being all green except
for a patch of violet-blue on the breast and a violet black tail. The female is
more drab and has a longer more curved bill. The other hummer on the island is
the much smaller Antillean Crested Hummingbird. This little hummer also has a
crest which the Carib doesn't and has a lighter chest. They breed in
mid-March-May laying two white eggs in a down lined nest deep in a
bougainvillea or other bushes around Club Orient. Their sharp 'chewp' can be
heard as the little bird sneaks around the flowering plants near the windows of
the hotel rooms. Now you can recognize this little visitor as the
Green-throated Carib!
